Doug Lowell. Do You Have Fire for Me? Loveheadhouse, 2021.
What do you do when you launch a successful podcast to drive people to your photographic t-shirt business and everything works except the t-shirt part?
Maybe you publish books instead.
So, here is the first book offered under the Loveheadhouse imprint. I intend to publish more, and not just necessarily my own. But of course the future will have some say in that.
Do You Have Fire for Me? is a reaction to the gift of a painter’s jacket from the Berlin artist Thomas Zipp. The dilemma I faced was, what to make with it?
The answer came in 2016 when a wave of cthonic forces were unleashed into the world and I realized a protective apotropaic ritual was called for. (Thank you, Jane E. Harrison, for my understanding of ancient Greek ritual.)
